Actress Park Bo-young addressed the public pressure regarding the recent local election controversies through a fan communication platform on June 7. She reassured her followers, stating, "Don't worry. There's not much impact," effectively dismissing the forceful demands for her to make an official statement.
Her personal social media channels had been flooded with comments criticizing her silence on the ongoing protests blocking the Jamsil ballot counting center. Some users accused her of having "selective justice," pointing out that while she previously supported citizens during the martial law incident and anti-government rallies, she remained silent on the current voting crisis.
The controversy stems from the June 3 local elections, where severe ballot shortages at several polling stations in Seoul—including Gangnam, Gwangjin, and Songpa districts—forced voters into long delays. Following the voting mishap, angry citizens at a Jamsil polling station blocked the entrance to demand a re-election, delaying the removal of ballot boxes for 35 hours.
Protests have continued for days at the Olympic Park Handball Gymnasium, the main ballot counting center for the Jamsil area. Despite the mounting pressure from critics online to voice her opinion on this political situation, Park chose to briefly comfort her fans instead of engaging in the controversy.
